Welcome to our redesigned website. We hope you’ll enjoy seeing more stories and pictures of the life-transforming work that God is doing through Desire Street Ministries.
I hope you’ll check back often. Not only is this site a “work in progress,” but we are finding that even we can’t keep up with all the amazing ways God is moving in the inner-city. There’s not enough room in our quarterly print newsletter or monthly enewsletters to tell you all about it, so we are taking advantage of cyberspace to provide a canvas for painting the picture of God’s Kingdom here on earth.
You may notice that we have a somewhat bright and optimistic look to this site. While most people would associate things like poverty, injustice, helplessness and despair as something to treat somberly, we choose instead to focus on the flashes of hope, progress and transformation that holistic change from within generates.
So what I hope we are able to convey to you in this site is the experience of what it feels like to have new eyes and a new heart—that freshness that every now and then the Lord gives when He lets us see His perspective.
